Sergei Georgievich Minasyan was born in 1932 in Tbilisi, Georgia. In 1960 he graduated from The Art Academy of Tbilisi, Department of Monumental Painting. Minasyan has been a member of the USSR Artist Union since 1966, a member of the Creative Union of Russian Artists, a member of International Association of Artists, and an honored artist of the Russian Federation awarded with the gold medal for his creative contribution to the native culture. Currently Minasyan is a Professor of Painting as well as Chair of the Drawing Department in Moscow State V. I. Surikov Art Institute. He is also a participant of numerous republican, All-Union, and international exhibits.
